AI Prompts for Teachers

Planning, creating worksheets, adapting materials, preparing tests. Lesson preparation takes hours every week. Artificial Intelligence can help, but only when you know how to ask for what you need. In this 3-hour online training session, teachers learn how to write clear prompts for AI and leave with lesson plans, worksheets and assessment tools created for their classes, ready to use the following week.

Prompts de IA para Professores

Overview

About this learning

Many teachers have already tried ChatGPT or another AI tool and come away with the same impression: the answers are generic, poorly adapted to the class and take more work to correct than to create from scratch. Most of the time, the problem is not the tool. It is the way the request is made.

This training was designed to solve exactly that. Instead of theory about Artificial Intelligence, the time is spent doing. Each participant works with their computer open, on a topic they will actually teach, and learns a simple way to ask for what they need. Over three hours, participants prepare a lesson plan using AI, a worksheet at several levels of difficulty, and a set of assessment questions. In the end, they save the best prompts in a personal library, to use again whenever they need them. The training is based on a clear principle: AI helps with preparation, but the teacher decides. For that reason, participants also learn to check what AI produces and to protect students' data.

About The Author

Sérgio Serrenho

Systems and IT Engineer

Sérgio Serrenho was born in Porto in 1979, and from an early age found in technology an area where he could combine curiosity, creativity and problem-solving.

With more than 23 years of experience in Software Engineering, he built his professional path in national and international projects, taking on roles as Software Developer, Software Architect, DevOps Lead and Technical Consultant, in areas such as Energy, ERP, Financial Services and Digital Transformation.

In recent years, he has devoted particular attention to Artificial Intelligence and process automation, exploring the use of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs) and systems integration to create solutions that solve real business problems and simplify people's work.

More recently, he has also strengthened his training role as a trainer, having obtained the Teaching Skills Certificate (CCP). Over the past year, he has combined his technology work with training and teaching Robotics and STEM, through extracurricular activities aimed at students in the 1st and 2nd cycles.

His approach to training stems from the experience of someone who works with technology every day: explaining complex concepts in a simple, practical and accessible way, favouring experimentation and the application of knowledge to concrete situations.

Sérgio believes that technology should simplify people's lives and work, not make them more complex.
