Version: 22 September 2026. This document governs the use of LearningLAB Academy and explains how the personal data of its users are processed.
Part I — Terms of Use
1. Provider identification
LearningLAB Academy is operated by SS Academia de Formação, Lda., VAT number 518884260, with its registered office in Braga, Portugal, hereinafter referred to as “LearningLAB”.
General contact: geral@learninglab.pt · 910 475 595.
2. Purpose and scope
These terms apply to the registration, access to and purchase of recorded courses, live courses, subscriptions, technical-professional activities, AECs and other services made available at academia.learninglab.pt. The specific conditions set out on each course page — price, dates, duration, programme, trainer, requirements, format, access to the recording and certification rules — form part of the relevant contract.
3. Account and access profiles
- The user must provide true, complete and up-to-date information and keep their credentials confidential.
- The account is personal and may not be shared. Institutions may have authorised users, limited to their own organisation.
- Teacher and institution accounts depend on email verification and approval by an administrator or pedagogical coordinator.
- The user must promptly report any unauthorised use of the account.
4. Courses, prices and contracting
Prices are shown in euros and indicate whether they include taxes legally applicable. Before completing the purchase, the user receives clear information about the service, total price, payment methods, duration, access conditions and, where applicable, automatic renewal.
The contract is deemed concluded when payment is confirmed and LearningLAB sends confirmation on a durable medium, usually by email. Invoicing is processed through TOConline. The payment provider does not communicate the full card details to LearningLAB.
5. Live courses and recordings
Live sessions may be held through a videoconferencing service indicated on the course page. Access is reserved for registered participants. When announced, the recording is made available in the reserved area for the period stated in the course conditions.
It is forbidden to record, rebroadcast, share credentials or make content, links or recordings available to third parties without authorisation. Any viewing or download limits will be communicated before purchase and do not affect the consumer's rights recognised by law.
6. Right of withdrawal, early access and refunds
Where monthly plans exist, the price, frequency, included catalogue and cancellation conditions are presented before joining. Renewal takes place at the start of each period until cancellation. Unless otherwise provided by law or contract, cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for.
Any change in price or essential elements will be communicated in advance, allowing the subscriber to cancel before the affected renewal.
7. Right of withdrawal, early commencement and refunds
In contracts concluded at a distance, the consumer is generally entitled to 14 days to exercise the right of withdrawal, in accordance with Decree-Law No. 24/2014, of 14 February, as amended and in force.
Where the consumer requests that a service begin during that period, a proportionate amount for the service already provided may be due. The right may cease after the full provision of the service if there was prior express request and acknowledgement. In the immediate supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, loss of the right depends on the prior express consent to the commencement of performance and acknowledgement of that consequence.
The exercise of the right or a support request should be sent to geral@learninglab.pt, identifying the order. Refunds legally due are made using the same payment method, unless otherwise agreed.
8. Intellectual property and permitted use
The contents, recordings, materials, trademarks and graphic elements belong to LearningLAB or their respective authors and are protected by applicable law. Purchase grants only a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence for learning purposes. Reproduction, distribution, sale, public display or commercial use is not permitted without written authorisation.
9. Certificates and DGERT reference
Issuance of a certificate depends on meeting the requirements published for each course, including attendance, assessment or completion of activities. A course will only be presented as certified or under the DGERT framework when this is expressly indicated on the respective page. Simple registration on the platform does not guarantee certification.
10. Availability and conduct
LearningLAB applies reasonable measures to keep the platform available, but interruptions may occur due to maintenance, security, third-party failures or force majeure. Whenever a live session is cancelled or changed, participants will be informed and the appropriate legal and contractual solutions will be applied.
Access may be suspended in the event of fraud, account sharing, infringement of third-party rights, abusive use or serious breach of these terms, without prejudice to hearing and consumer rights where applicable.
11. Complaints and dispute resolution
The user should first contact LearningLAB via geral@learninglab.pt. You may also use the Electronic Complaints Book.
For consumer disputes in the Braga area, the competent body may be the CIAB — Consumer Information, Mediation and Arbitration Centre, Rua D. Afonso Henriques, No. 1, 4700-030 Braga, email geral@ciab.pt. The updated list of alternative dispute resolution entities is available at the Directorate-General for Consumer Affairs.
12. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights or affects the jurisdiction of the courts determined by applicable law.
Part II — Privacy Policy
13. Data controller
The data controller is SS Academia de Formação, Lda., identified in point 1. Questions about privacy or requests to exercise rights may be sent to geral@learninglab.pt.

Depending on the profile and the services used, we may process:

16. Mandatory data and minimisation
Mandatory fields are identified in the form. The absence of necessary data may prevent account creation, invoicing, enrolment or certification. We do not use consent as the basis where processing is necessary to perform the contract or comply with a legal obligation.
The Citizen Card number must not be used as a generic identifier or for commercial recommendation. Presenting the document for verification does not authorise us to retain it, and a copy may only be collected in cases permitted by law or with a valid basis and specific information.
17. Recipients and processors
Data may be processed by suppliers providing hosting, email, maintenance, payments, invoicing, video conferencing, storage and video streaming, support, translation and strictly necessary analysis for the service to function. These suppliers act under contract and only according to instructions, where they are sub-processors.
Data may also be shared with accountants, trainers, contracting institutions, tax, judicial or administrative authorities, where necessary and legally required. An institution only has access to the data of its own AECs, classes and authorised users.
18. International transfers
We prefer hosting in the European Economic Area. If a supplier processes data outside the EEA, the safeguards provided for in the GDPR will be used, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses, accompanied by appropriate additional measures.
19. Recommendations and artificial intelligence
The restricted area may rank or suggest courses based on the catalogue, areas of interest, profession and completed courses. Recommendations may be recalculated periodically and are only suggestions: they do not produce decisions with legal effects or similarly significant effects. The user may request information on the general criteria, correct profile data or request that personalisation be deactivated.
20. Retention periods
| Data | Indicative period |
|---|---|
| Account and profile | During the contractual relationship and up to 2 years after closure, unless there is an obligation or pending dispute. |
| Unapproved teacher or institution applications | Up to 90 days after the decision, unless there is a request for review or a need to defend rights. |

| Technical and security logs | As a rule, up to 6 months; they may be retained for longer when necessary to investigate an incident. |
| Events of the consented public journey | Until consent is withdrawn or, at most, 12 months. |
| Marketing | Until consent is withdrawn or after a reasonable period without interaction, subject to periodic review. |
| Course recordings | For the announced access period for the course and for the additional time strictly necessary for support, evidence and contractual obligations. |
21. Cookies and similar technologies
Strictly necessary cookies are used for authentication, security, basket, language and platform operation. Analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies will only be activated after clear information and, where required, prior consent. Refusing non-essential cookies does not prevent access to essential functions.
22. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encrypted communications, profile-based access control, authentication, backups, updates, security logs and segregation of networks and databases. No system is completely immune; incidents are assessed and, where required, reported to the CNPD and the affected data subjects.
23. Minors and AECs
In activities involving minors, registration and data processing must be carried out by the holder of parental responsibility or by the institution on an appropriate legal basis. Only the data necessary for the activity, safety, attendance and reporting are collected. Images, recordings or promotional use require separate information and authorisation where applicable.
24. Data subject rights
Where applicable, the data subject may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. They may also object to direct marketing at any time.
The request should be sent to geral@learninglab.pt. We may request information strictly necessary to confirm identity. We normally respond within one month, subject to the extensions permitted by the GDPR.
25. Complaint to the supervisory authority
The data subject may lodge a complaint with the National Data Protection Commission — CNPD, Avenida D. Carlos I, 134, 1.º, 1200-651 Lisbon, Portugal.
26. Changes
This document may be updated to reflect legal, functional or supplier changes. The version and date are shown at the beginning. Material changes affecting a contractual relationship or the expectations of data subjects will be communicated through appropriate channels.
