Snoezelen Approach: From Theory to Practice<\/h1>\n

A course to understand Snoezelen, explore sensory processing and learn how to plan interventions suited to different audiences.\r\nIn this 9-hour course, we will cover the fundamentals of Snoezelen, understand the basics of sensory processing, explore the different environments and materials, and learn how to structure intervention processes adapted to children, adults and older people.<\/p>\n

What is Snoezelen?<\/h3>\r\n

Snoezelen is a multisensory stimulation approach that aims to provide experiences tailored to each person\u2019s characteristics, needs and goals.<\/p>\r\n

More than simply providing stimuli, it is important to understand who is in front of us, what they are looking for, how they react and how we can create a meaningful and safe experience<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

In this training, you will learn about the principles that underpin this approach and discover how to move from concepts to practice.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

What will you learn?<\/h3>\r\n

Throughout the training, you will explore:<\/p>\r\n

The fundamentals of Snoezelen: <\/strong>Learn about the origins of Snoezelen, its principles and the foundations that guide the use of multisensory stimulation environments.<\/p>\r\n

Sensory processing: <\/strong>Understand the basics of sensory processing and learn about the different sensory systems and their role in a person\u2019s experience.<\/p>\r\n

Materials and equipment: <\/strong>Learn about the main materials found in a multisensory stimulation room and understand the possibilities for using them.<\/p>\r\n

Relationship and interaction:<\/strong> Understand why the relationship between professional and person is central to Snoezelen and how intervention should respect individual pace and responses.<\/p>\r\n
